Serving Rural Ohio Communities for over 25 Years
The Ohio Rural Community Assistance Program (RCAP) provides free and low-cost services to help rural communities address their drinking water and wastewater treatment needs. In 2006, Ohio RCAP provided service to over 130 communities and leveraged over $67.5 millon to fund drinking water and wastewater projects throughout the state.

Ohio RCAP is part of the Great Lakes RCAP network, and receives funding from a number of federal programs as well as Ohio EPA to provide technical assistance to communities under 10,000 population, including homeowner associations and mobile home parks.

CUPSS is now available to order or download!
The US EPA is now offering the Check Up Program for Small Systems (CUPSS). CUPSS is a free, easy-to-use, asset management tool for small drinking water and wastewater utilities. Visit the EPA CUPSS website for more information, or call 1-800-490-9198 order EPA Publication #816-K-08-002. RCAP will begin offering free classes to use this software in the Fall. Look for our schedule of 401 classes to be posted later this summer!

RCAP Now Offering Project Planning, Design and Construction Short Courses - Sponsored by OWDA
Ohio Water Development Authority and RCAP are pleased to announce a series of three 'Short Courses' for water and wastewater utilities. Each stand-alone course is approximately 90 minutes, and will outline the roles and responsibilities of project owners, engineers and contractors. Topics such as funding, public engagement, land aquisition, tap fees and rates, project inspection, project close out, etc. will be addressed. In order to enable everyone from a community involved in a project to participate, RCAP will travel to the community. Participants will receive a handbook, and the training is free. Ohio AWWA Encourages All Systems to Join WARN for Emergency Preparedness
WARN provides standardized Mutual Aid Agreements and (soon) a database of equipment, labor and other resources water and wastewater systems can utilize in the event of an emergency. Participation is free. Please visit the Ohio WARN website, maintained by the Ohio Section of the American Water Works Association (AWWA), or contact RaShawn Truss at (614) 265-3180 for more information.
RCAP Safe Water Fund Now Offering 4.0%, 5-Year Design Loans
